Cedar Observatory — visitor guide

This is a fictional document for testing local document retrieval and citations.

Opening hours

Cedar Observatory welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the visitor centre opens at 14:00 and closes at 20:00. On Saturdays the observatory opens at 10:00 and closes at 23:00. On Sundays it opens at 10:00 and closes at 18:00. The observatory is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for equipment maintenance. All times refer to the local time zone. The final admission is one hour before closing. The rooftop terrace may close earlier if weather conditions are unsafe.

Telescope reservations

Reserve a telescope session by emailing visits@cedar.example at least two days in advance. Include your preferred date, the number of visitors and whether you need wheelchair access. Sessions last 45 minutes and are limited to six people. Walk-in telescope reservations are not accepted. A reservation is confirmed only after the visitor receives a confirmation email from the team.

Tickets and access

General admission costs 12 euros for adults and 6 euros for students. Children under twelve enter free with an accompanying adult. A telescope session costs an additional 8 euros per person. The visitor centre and observation deck are wheelchair accessible via the north entrance. Guide dogs are welcome throughout the public areas. Large bags must be left in the lockers near reception.

Weather and cancellations

If thick clouds or high winds prevent safe telescope use, staff cancel the session and offer either a full refund of the telescope supplement or a new date. General admission is not refunded if the indoor exhibitions remain open. Visitors can cancel their reservation without charge up to 24 hours beforehand. After that deadline, the telescope supplement is non-refundable unless the observatory cancels the session. Bring warm clothing for the observation deck.
